Referee Recruitment and Contact Information
New and certified referees—whether new to the area or returning—are encouraged to complete the referee application by going to PowerUp > Volunteer Now > Referee Application, or to contact our office administrator with any questions.

To register or maintain standing as a Small Sided Game Match Official, a match official must:
1) Be 12 years old as of April 1st of the current year; and
2) Successfully complete the Canada Soccer small-sided game accreditation course
3) Complete the annual laws of the game evaluation
To be eligible to become a Youth Match Official, the individual must:
1) Be 14 years of age as of April 1st of the current year
2) Successfully complete the Canada Soccer Entry Level accreditation course and
3) Be in good standing with the club and Ontario Soccer
If the participant fails the Entry Level examination they may re-write the examination. Failing to pass the re-write, the participant will be required to re-take the course.
To maintain classification as a Youth Match Official, a match official must:
1) Officiate only competitions that are sanctioned by Ontario Soccer
2) Adhere to all Published Rules of Ontario Soccer and be in good standing.
3) Remain current by completing education programming, as required
4) Maintain registration each year and pay the annual fees as published by Ontario Soccer

SECTION 11: REFEREE POLICY
11.1 The referee will verify equipment for players at the beginning of each game.
11.2 Referees must submit a written report to the office and the Director of referees for all cautions and/or dismissals issued during a game.
11.3 Payroll will be completed via e-transfer bi-weekly.
11.4 Referees who request an e-transfer to be re-sent will be deducted any service fees associated with resending.
